A Day At St. Francis

A regular day at St. Francis College starts at 8:00 a.m. sharp and children are expected to arrive at school between 7:45 a.m. and 7:55 a.m. in order to prepare for the beginning of their day. Alpha comes to school on a part-time schedule and leaves at lunch time (12:00 a.m.). PYP 1 children have lunch in the school canteen, and also have time for a short nap. PYP 2 to PYP 8 children have at least a one hour lunch break during which they eat a catered lunch in the school canteen and play outside.

The school day ends at 3:00 p.m. for children in PYP 1 to PYP 4 and 3:30 p.m. for PYP 5 to PYP 8. They must be collected by their parents or authorised driver/nanny/friend, etc. from their class teacher, who will be in the pick-up areas. Most weeks Primary meet for assemblies; either on Tuesdays or Fridays.

Assemblies are moments of celebration, announcements and of sharing what children have learnt. Parents will be invited to their child’s assembly via the pupil’s diary up to PYP 5.

From PYP 6 onwards children are expected to inform their parents of this event. All parents are welcome to come on the stated date.
